Ground clearance is exactly what the term implies – the clear distance between the lowest point of a car and the ground. Needless to say, a higher ground clearance gives you more freedom to go over rough and uneven terrain. It also aids visibility.

However, the downside is that a high ground clearance may compromise the stability of the vehicle as compared to a car with low ground clearance.
